Forming an Asian American Alumni Council
Jeffrey Alton '04, '06, Vu Tran '07, Hai Pham '08 are in the process of starting an Asian American Alumni Council. The vision of the Council is to create an opportunity for Asian American alumni to connect with fellow alumni and current undergraduates for professional development and networking, be involved in UConn's Alumni Association, and remain in touch with and support the Asian American Cultural Center.
To those of you who've shown a strong commitment to the Asian American Community during your undergraduate years, we know that with your help we can really create something special that will help enrich and empower our community while giving us the opportunity to reconnect and talk about the good old days.
You are cordially invited to join us at an Alumni Reception starting at 5 PM on Saturday, February 27th at the Asian American Cultural Center on the 4th floor of the Student Union prior to the 15th annual Asian Nite talent show. The purpose of this reception is to begin to build the foundation for an Asian American Alumni Council, and to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones.
Please RSVP to Jeff Alton at JRAltonjr@alumni.uconn.edu by Thursday, February 25th. Friends and family are more than welcome to attend. If you would like to purchase Asian Nite tickets, let us know in your RSVP so we can set aside some "VIP Alumni" seating for you and your guests. Please bring business cards if you have them as this will be a great opportunity to expand your networks!
