Meet the UConn Muslim Union!

Founded in the Spring of 2021, the UConn Muslim Union/Ummah (UCMU) was established to create a space where all Muslim student organizations across UConn campuses could connect, communicate, and collaborate. At the time, Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr were happening in the school year, and there was much concern as to how the needs of Muslim students would be met. Wanting to establish an active, healthy working relationship with the UConn administration, the UCMU worked together to become a united front when representing the UConn Muslim community. Through our efforts, Eid Al-Fitr is now a holiday recognized and celebrated by the university.
